Youth held for assault on girl

KEMAMAN: A labourer was detained for molesting a 14-year-old student under a bridge in Kampung Mak Lagam, here, on Sunday.

The 20-year-old suspect from Geliga, here, met the victim, at a surau in Kampung Pak Akob, Geliga.

The youth then took the girl on his motorcycle to the bridge about 20km away and spent some time talking to her before molesting her.

She put up a struggle and was rescued by several villagers who heard her cries.

They handed the youth to the Chukai police station.
