Gong Xi Fa Cai from Bangsar Mosque12 February 2017 @ 10:25 AM
Pak Ibrahim has reinvented himself in a most meaningful manner. But friends have not been totally surprised at this because he remained true to his passion — communication.
From a teacher to a broadcast journalist to a press secretary to two ministers whom he served for 15 years, Pak Ibrahim is now chairman of one of the biggest and most popular mosques in the country.
We are watching you, Bro!5 February 2017 @ 10:10 AM
WHEN news about Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir joining Ipoh City Council’s (MBI) general workers to collect rubbish broke, I laughed cynically. What gimmick can this be, I asked.
For a menteri besar to don a general worker’s uniform and collect rubbish, I thought this must be another attempt to get cheap publicity.
A big picture of Zambry was on the front page of this newspaper on Friday and there were quite a few postings on social media as well.
Dreams come true in 'Dangal'15 January 2017 @ 2:25 PM
IF there is anyone out there looking for inspiration, I would recommend them to watch the Hindi movie, Dangal.
Based on a true story of a wrestler in India, Dangal will pull your heartstrings to bits, make you laugh and walk out from the cinema feeling like you are ready to take on the world.
It is a movie that can shake off all negative vibes in you and make you challenge the world. And, win.
Wanted: An eggs expert8 January 2017 @ 1:33 PM
Smartphones may be smart, but are the users as smart?
BEWARE of fake eggs in the market! And be careful when buying food from diners and other outlets selling foodstuff and daily essentials.
The fake eggs are supposedly exported from China, a country said to be very creative in coming out with technology-produced food. The eggs are said to be one of them.

What's next for Selangor football?25 December 2016 @ 5:23 PM
FOOTBALL fans in Selangor are up in arms after hearing news that the state football association may decide to quit the Malaysian league.
Budget constraints appear to be one of the reasons for this. The popular Red Giants, who have been champions for decades and have a big following, are now caught in a bind.
Leaving the league would hit both the state team and render the national league less attractive. Selangor, a team full of traditions and trophies, has always been a big draw.
Merry Christmas, everyone!25 December 2016 @ 5:17 PM
MERRY Christmas and Happy New Year! Since this year’s Christmas falls on a Sunday, most of us will get an extra day off tomorrow.
And as most of you would already know, this weekend is one of those long ones where “balik kampung” is the order of the day. Bye-bye Kuala Lumpur!
But yesterday morning’s news of a bus accident in Muar, Johor, that caused 14 deaths and injured 16 is a grim reminder of road fatalities during festive seasons. This must end.
Happy Birthday, Pak Mad!19 December 2016 @ 12:26 AM
ANYONE who listens to the radio and watches television must surely know Ahmad Merican, now Tan Sri, of course.
This grand old man just turned 92, looking and behaving as sprightly as ever.
I bumped into Pak Mad, as he’s often and fondly referred to. His handshake was firm and he stood tall and upright. Apart from some grey hair on the sides, Pak Mad would have passed for someone in his 60s!
You want security or not?18 December 2016 @ 11:54 PM
PROACTIVE MEASURES: Security guards and boom gates are an essential part of the urban survival kit
WHAT’S the matter with these people? They live in an urban residential housing estate, earn a decent living, drive big cars and expect free service.
They have properties in several places and travel extensively. They enjoy free and easy movement and leave their houses in the care of security guards responsible for the entire residential area.
