KUALA LUMPUR: The Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) have been provisionally suspended from conducting motorsports activities by the sport's governing body, the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM).
AAM president Tunku Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha confirmed the suspension pending an enquiry, which was due to MAM's non-compliance with required safety standards in an incident involving the Educational Innovation Motosports Automotive Race (EIMARACE) in Kuantan on Sunday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Armed Forces and Defence Ministry personnel are set for a pay rise of between 10 and 40 per cent from July 1 under the government's rasionalisation programme for the Federal Public Service Scheme.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, in announcing this today, said the revamp of an overall 252 schemes on a national scale will see the upgrading of 29 schemes under the Defence Ministry, involving 3,351 personnel.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Tour of Sarawak organisers tonight released a statement apologising for the inconvenience caused to participants of the race.
They also gave their assurance that a representative was on his way to Miri to settle issues faced by them.
The statement, posted on the Tour of Sarawak Facebook page at 8.27pm, clarified that the chaos in Miri was down to "some internal issues."

KUALA LUMPUR: The discovery of debris resembling that of a Boeing 777 in Mozambique on Tuesday could reaffirm the belief that search operations are on the right track, within the vast area of the Southern Indian Ocean where MH370 may have crashed two years ago.
Though yet to be confirmed, MH370 remains the only Boeing 777 reported missing, thus indications are that the debris resembling a rear horizontal stabiliser of an aircraft that washed up on the coast off the Mozambique Channel on Tuesday is likely to be from the missing Malaysia Airlines aircraft.

KUALA LUMPUR: Retail prices for RON 95 and RON 97 petrol will drop by 15 sen and 10 sen respectively, while diesel remains at RM1.35 per litre effective midnight.
A Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia statement confirmed that effective tomorrow, RON 95 will cost RM1.60 per litre, while RON 97 will cost RM1.95 per litre.
Diesel will remain unchanged at RM1.35 per litre, as is Euro 5 diesel at RM1.45 per litre.
RON 95 had previously cost RM1.75 per litre, while RON 97 had cost RM2.05.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak tonight added momentum to a proposal for a joint Malaysia-Singapore bid to host the Olympic Games in 2028 by stating the country welcomed more international events to be hosted here.
Officially opening the 128th International Olympic Committee (IOC) session here, Najib said he also hoped Malaysia had a proud history of hosting international sporting events such as the Commonwealth Games in 1998.
