KUALA TERENGGANU: Mohd Suazam Sulaiman burrowed through the bundle of clothes intently, occasionally flashing a smile as he looked at its designs.
Ladang assemblyman Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh helping one of the orphans try out a T-shirt during the Raya shopping outing at Giant hypermarket yesterday.
When the 6-year-old orphan found one that caught his eye, he wore it over his shirt and seemed happy with his selection.
“I chose a Spider-Man shirt. I like it and can’t wait to wear it for Raya,” he said.
“I hope I can come back next year. I like this place too. It’s my first time here.”
Suazam said his mother, in the past, would usually take him to buy new clothes for the festive season.
Suazam was among the nine orphans selected for a day-out at the newly opened Giant hypermarket, here, yesterday.
The orphans, aged between three and 12 from Ladang, were treated to a Raya shopping spree by Ladang assemblyman Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh.
Wan Hisham, who is also the Terengganu Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Communication Committee chairman, was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Wan Hafnah Wan Ismail.
