KUALA LUMPUR: It just warmed one's heart to see the children's joyful faces after getting new Hari Raya clothes and shoes.
And after a day of shopping, the 12 children were treated to a breaking of fast at a restaurant in Suria KLCC.
Suria KLCC chairman Datuk Ishak Imam Abas having a chat with the kids while looking through the new clothes they received.
The event, organised and sponsored by Suria KLCC in conjunction with Ramadan recently, was for children from two underprivileged families from Klang whose plight were highlighted by TV3 early last year.
Norazlina Mokhtar, 36, a mother of seven, said she and her children were thrilled to be able to shop in a world-class shopping complex like the Suria KLCC.
Suria KLCC development marketing and communication senior manager Zurina Hasan said the children's smiles made the whole effort worthwhile.
The complex also launched its Hari Raya promotion themed “Raya in Grandeur". The focal point is the Centre Court which has been transformed into a majestic courtyard, complete with colourful arches, a water feature, lights and lanterns.
There will be daily cultural performances featuring Middle Eastern music, using classical instruments like the oud and darbuka.
