Blake, Melinda and Jordin to appear at Macy's Fireworks event
NOW here's a juicy bit of news for those who are wondering what's going on in Doolittle, Blake and Jordin's lives right now. It seems that the trio are slated to sing at NBC's big bash on July 4.
The event is called 4th Annual Macy's Fireworks Spectacular. Perhaps I am jumping the gun. According to news reports the American Idol trio "will be featured" at the event.
That could mean that they will appear and not sing.
But wait a minute, I just received word coming through my sophisticated headphone that they are indeed rendering a song together at the live event.
The duo from Today Show Natalie Morales and Tiki Barber will be hosting the show from 9pm to 10pm.
So for those of you who are on the right side of the TV signal footprint, this is your chance to catch more than a glimpse of the famous trio from American Idol 2007.
Forty-eight hours before the Idol Live Tour begins, Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle and Jordin Sparks will be appearing in this 35,000 fireworks "bombs" blitz display.
The other guest artiste at this Macy's Event is Martina McBride. It is reported that McBride will sing "Anyway" from her ninth album Waking Up Laughing.
The Idol tour, in case you miss the news, will start on July 6 in Sunrise, Florida.
Now here's a quick recap:
Jordin, 17, is from Glendale, Arizona. She won the title Overall Spotlight Winner at the Gospel Music Academy in 2004.
Blake Lewis, 25, is from Bothell, Washington. His parents first had a clue that he could sing when he exercised his vocal chords at the age of five.
Melinda Doolittle is 29 this year. She's from Brentwood, Tennessee. Melinda is a music major from Belmont University in Nashville. She began singing, half seriously, from the seventh grade.
Apparently the American Pyrotechnic Association has rated the Macy's Fireworks event as the No. 1 Fireworks show. So that's big exposure for anyone appearing on centre stage.
Invitation to participate in this event is a great honour, particularly for Blake, Doolittle and Jordin.
So if you have nothing to do on July 4, around 9pm, tune in and watch the Idol trio. Might be worth your while.
