American Idol Season 7 auditions begin!
I HAVEN'T even gotten over the Sixth Season yet and the guys in Hollywood has kickstarted the engine for the American Idol Season 7! Whoa there, boy! Don't flog the golden goose to death.
I guess when the going's hot, TV producers are bound to go over the top with fiduciary enthusiasm.
The plan is apparently to spread the Season 7 over seven American cities. Recently, at San Diego where the first took place, about 12,000 potential singers turned up.
No, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul weren't there. They (Network head honchos) always save the best for last. What was in place were 23 of the show's producers.
When all is over and done with, the people behind the hottest TV show on earth want to narrow the number to between 300 and 500 candidates. The rest can go home and cry, or cry then go home, whichever comes first.
Everybody wants to make it to Hollywood, even if it means dropping out in the first Hollywood round.
The Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego was filled to the brim with thousands of Idol hopefuls, the majority of whom thought they had more than a fighting, or cursing chance.
Well, if you can't be the next Jordin Sparks, you can always try to be a next successful Sanjaya Malakar!
In case, you THINK you are the next American Idol, here's the dates and venues of the coming auditions:
Aug 6, Dallas Stadium, TEXAS
Aug 10, Qwest Center, OMAHA
Aug 14, Georgia Dome, ATLANTA
Aug 18, North Charleston Coliseum, CHARLESTON
Aug 22, AmericanAirlines Arena, MIAMI
Aug 27, Wachovia Center, PHILADELPHIA
After all the preparations have taken place and the editing of the thousands of feet of footages completed, the show will begin in January 2008.
For the successful, theirs are the fame and the recording contracts. For the also-rans, well, they have their 120 seconds of fame.
You will need your papa and mama, and whoever is giving you moral support at the audition centres, just in case you need a shoulder to cry on.
But never mind, it's going to be fun and you are only young once.
