It was bound to happen.

The Cagiva Mito 125cc has been resurrected for 2008.

This spy picture has leaked out into the internet before the Mito made it's debut at the Milan motorcycle show.

There have been plenty of rumours about the choice of engine that Cagiva was going to put into the frame. There were rumours that the two-stroke would no longer meet emmission requirements and hence would be scrapped.

A few months ago, there were rumours that the new Mito would be powered by a 500cc Husqvarna engine.

Later, another rumour spread that it would be powered by a 650cc from Hyosung (the same as the Naza Blade 650).

Judging from the photo, and the fact that it still retains the single front brake - the Mito most likely has retained it's 125cc 2-stroke engine.

The new styling though, is fabulous. It has been 13 years since the Mito was introduced and the new looks are bound to attract a new generation of buyers.

The seat and fairing are clearly inspired by Cagiva’s C594 500GP machine from the 1990’s.   

The rear seat is colour coded to the body to make it look like a single-seater.
