The Australian International School Malaysia is organising a talk on Third Culture Kids by renowned speaker Chris O'Shaughnessy on Tuesday (9.30am to 11.30am) at its premises at 22, Jalan Anggerik, Mines Resort City, Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The talk will help equip parents of cross-cultural children with the understanding of unique characteristics of such kids and provide methods for addressing challenges and cultivating benefits of the experience.

The Malaysian alumni of the University of Canterbury, New Zealand are offering two new scholarships available to Malaysian students planning to study at the University of Canterbury for the first time in 2013.
Three NZ$10,000 (RM25,000) scholarships are available for students from within Malaysia, and five NZ$5,000 scholarships are available for Malaysian students studying at New Zealand high schools.

The Embassy of Japan has announced that the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for the Young Leaders' Programme (YLP) is open for application until Friday. Malaysian nationals who would like to pursue their master's courses in Japan are invited to apply for the scholarships. During the term of the scholarship, a monthly allowance of approximately 242,000 yen (subject to change) will be given. Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at the universities will be exempted. A round-trip airplane ticket is also provided.
The course duration is one year from October 2013 to September 2014 (except for the Business Administration course). Courses will be conducted in English.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Brunei's national university, is accepting applications for admission to its postgraduate programme in Asian Studies to start next year.
Eligible applicants are invited to apply for the 10 postgraduate scholarships in Critical Asian Studies under the new Graduate Research Scholarship Programme.
To be eligible, a candidate must be under the age of 40, enrolled full-time on a postgraduate course and demonstrate a good academic track record.
The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of B$1,500 (RM3,600) (maximum period of three years); passage to Brunei Darussalam from and back to home country; a one-time allowance of B$3,000 for field research; and tuition fee waiver.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) is supporting Airbus' Fly Your Ideas challenge, a student contest which aims to inspire a new generation of engineers.
The global contest has just opened its third season and challenges students worldwide to develop new ideas for a more sustainable aviation industry. It involves three rounds where five teams will be chosen as finalists in the summer of 2013, each with the chance to win a euro 30,000 (RM114,000) prize.
