Despite being paralysed from the waist down as a result of an accident 10 years ago, kite maker Husmizi Ibrahim did not let it rob him of his spirit to continue to contribute to the preservation of heritage. With an eye for detail, Husmizi transforms a common Wau Bulan (traditional Malay kite) into a work of art from his home in Pulai Chondong, Machang. He designs intricate motifs to add value to the wau bulan and other traditional kites. Pic by Zaman Huri Isa
