Malaysia’s 13th General Election

40 Sg Siput PKR members quit party, join Umno

SUNGAI SIPUT: Forty members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) quit the party today and joined Umno, citing disappointment when the party leaders refused to listen to the members at the grassroots.

Sungai Siput PKR Youth chief Aminuddin Mohd Shukri led the group to submit Umno membership forms to Sungai Siput Umno chief Datuk Dzulkifli Harun at Wisma Umno here.
Aminuddin said not much development were done in Sungai Siput since PKR won the parliamentary seat in the 2008 general election.
"It doesn't need party members to realise the party leaders' real attitude.
Any residents of Sungai Siput will know. These leaders can't even help PKR members, let alone to help the people in the constituency," he told reporters.
He said there was no consensus between PKR leaders and members and hence, the party would never be able to rule the country should it receive the people's mandate in the general election. Bernama
