KUALA LUMPUR: The Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) has prepared 39,040 packs of Hari Raya goodies worth RM370,880 to be distributed to security forces personnel.
One of the sponsors is Dewina Food Industries Sdn Bhd, which also provides beef rendang, anchovies in chili paste, satay and nasi impit.
Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is also Bakti president, said the goodies would be handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) on Tuesday.
A total of 20,000 packs of the goodies will be distributed to PDRM, ATM (15,000) and APMM (4,040), she told reporters after preparing the packs with Bakti members at Siti Hasmah Bakti building, here today.
Present were Deputy Prime Minister's wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman, who is Bakti deputy president, and Bakti honorary member Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
Rosmah also expressed her appreciation to 56 security forces personnel from PDRM, ATM and APMM and 34 varsity students involved in packing the goodies. -- BERNAMA
