JOHOR BARU: Johor police said today they have arrested paranormal practitioner Syed Abdullah Syed Hussein, who runs the blog, www.uncleseekers.blogspot.com, over remarks allegedly defaming the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

Syed Abdullah, 46, was held at 9.45 pm yesterday at the Senawang toll plaza in Seremban, the Johor Criminal Investigation Department said in a statement.

It said a 26-year-old woman, Siti Nadhirah Mohd Zain, was also arrested.

The statement said Syed Abdullah and Siti Nadhirah were being held for investigation under Section 8(1)(d) of the Official Secrets Act 1972.

On July 1, thirty individuals lodged a police report against Syed Abdullah over the publication of an article in his blog which was allegedly provocative
and seditious and humiliated the Sultan of Johor.

The police report also urged the authorities to undertake an investigation against the blog, uncleseekers.blogspot.com, which allegedly humiliated the
Tunku Mahkota of Johor as well as Johor leaders and civil servants. -- BERNAMA
