KANGAR: About 300 residents at Felda Chuping near here staged a gathering today to voice their protest against Felda settlers and staff who opposed the government.

Some of them carried banners and placards, written with words calling the government to take action against the settlers and employees concerned.

The group began to assemble at the location since 3pm and dispersed at about 4.15pm after Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu arrived at the scene.

The group also handed over a memorandum to Md Isa, to be forwarded to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak.     Ali Ismail, who claimed to be the spokesman for the group, said they wanted Felda Chuping to be rid of settlers and employees of the agency who were ungrateful to the government. -- ERNAMA
