Malaysia’s 13th General Election

DPM: Hold firm to oath to party leadership

PAGOH: Barisan Nasional deputy chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin have reminded component party members to hold firm to their oath to the party leadership by accepting the decision on the candidates and working hard to ensure victory in the election.

Muhyiddin said members should avoid elements that could hinder BN’s chances of victory and to unite.

“They should show their loyalty to the party by supporting the candidates that have been chosen. Our ultimate goal is to achieve victory,” said Muhyiddin.

He said he had expected the reaction once the BN candidates are announced as there are bound to be those who are disappointed not to be chosen.

“To those that have not been chosen, my advice is for them not to be too disappointed because this is not the end of their political career as there are other opportunities in the future.

“To those who have stepped aside to make way for new candidates, I would like to thank them for their contributions and hope that they would not stop their support to the new candidates because when they were the candidates, they received support from others so now is the time for them to reciprocate,” said Muhyiddin.

He was speaking to the media after visiting the Kampung Tengah polling district centre (PDM) here.
