Dragon boat festival official believed drown at dam

PENANG; A 19-year old youth went missing while swimming at the Teluk Bahang dam here today.

Jacob Issac Fletcher, an official of the dragon boat festival is believed to have drowned.
 
The incident happened at about 12.50pm during the boat race interval.
 
He had apparently gone for a swim near the pontoon  at the starting point in the middle of the dam.
 
His parents and family members are praying for his safety at the makeshift rescue operation centre near the scene.
 
A team of 12 members from the Fire and Rescue Department were involved in the search.
