    Long ban for Nasri would be ridiculous: Platini

    KIEV: UEFA president Michel Platini on Saturday said that a two-year suspension from the national side for France forward Samir Nasri for a foul-mouthed tirade against journalists would be “ridiculous and shameful”.

     

    “If I was suspended every time I had insulted a journalist, I’d never have  had so many caps. For Samir Nasri, I’ve heard talk of a two-year suspension. 
     
    That would be ridiculous and shameful,” the former France captain told a news  conference.
     
    The executive committee of the French Football Federation is to decide on  Tuesday whether to sanction any of the national team’s players for their  behaviour during Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
     
    France crashed out to holders Spain in the quarter-finals but their  participation was marked by apparent in-fighting in the dressing room and  culminated with a tirade of abuse by Nasri after the game against La Roja. AFP
