Man sought to help in woman's attempted murder case
GEORGE TOWN: Police are looking for a man to help in the investigation into the attempted murder of a woman who was pushed through a sixth-floor window of a Batu Uban apartment block here on Aug 5.
North East District Police chief ACP Gan Kong Meng said the last-known address of the man, M. Kumarasingam, 27, was No. 73, Jalan Seri Indah 2, Taman Seri Indah, Bagan Serai.
The woman, in her 20's, survived the fall but fractured an ankle in the incident which followed a quarrel with her boyfriend at about 11 am on that day.
Gan said the boyfriend was caught by neighbours and handed over to the police who took him to Penang Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The doctor had asked for the handcuffs to be removed to facilitate examination, and the suspect took advantage of the situation to escape, he added.
Gan said a policeman was also under investigation for negligence in the discharge of duty. -- BERNAMA
