Moderate quake hits Timor, Indonesia


KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit Timor in Indonesia at 5.31am (local time) today.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was 22km east of Kupang, Indonesia and 1,648km south-east of Sarikei, Sarawak.

No tsunami warning was issued.
