Fans of American bands We The Kings and We Are The In Crowd can catch their idols here in May

AMERICAN alternative rock band We The Kings and pop-punk band We Are The In Crowd will perform in Kuala Lumpur in May.

We The Kings, Featuring We Are The In Crowd Live In Malaysia 2012 concert, will be held on May 30 at Car Park A, Bukit Jalil Stadium. It is presented by We Talent Harvest Sdn Bhd.

Both bands will share the stage.

We Are The In Crowd will perform hit songs such as Rumor Mill, Never Be What You Want, and its latest single Kiss Me Again (featuring Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low).

We The Kings will thrill fans with favourites such as Check Yes Juliet, Secret Valentine, Say You Like Me and Skyway Avenue.

Special guests Oh Chentaku, Kyoto Protocol, and Bunkface will open the concert.

“We are excited to open for We Are The In Crowd not only for its concert here but also in Singapore and Indonesia,” says Amber from Oh Chentaku in a press release. “It feels like we are representing the country and promoting its music regionally. I’m excited and looking forward to going on a tour with the band.”

“We are very happy to visit Malaysia for the first time. When we first heard we are going there, we looked up on its culinary delights. We are looking forward to trying some new cuisine and meeting some new faces!,” says Taylor Jardine, lead vocalist of We Are The In Crowd.

The band is from Poughkeepsie, New York, and was formed in 2009. It comprises Jardine (vocals), Jordan Eckes (guitar/vocals), Mike Ferri (bass), Rob Chianelli (drums), and Cameron Hurley (guitar). The band released its debut EP, Guaranteed To Disagree, in June 201,0 followed by its first album, Best Intentions the following year.

We The Kings bassist Charles Trippy, also a popular blogger who runs the web series Internet Killed Television (internetkilledtv.com), is currently recuperating from surgery. On the Malaysian gig, he recently tweeted: “I’ll be there!”

We The Kings was formed in 2005 in Bradenton, Florida. The hits Check Yes Juliet and Secret Valentine catapulted the band to worldwide fame. The band enjoyed 11 million hits on YouTube and 55 million plays on MySpace alone. The group released its self-titled full-length album in 2007, which featured the hit single Check Yes Juliet that dominated the local charts for six weeks. In 2009, it released another hit album, Smile Kid, which led to a successful world tour.

It released a new album last July entitled Sunshine State Of Mind, which featured its latest single, Say You Like Me. The members have toured extensively, playing in music festivals and as supporting acts to bands such as Simple Plan, All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Hot Chelle Ray and Taking Back Sunday.
