Strong quake hits Sulawesi

KUALA LUMPUR: An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale occurred in Sulawesi, Indonesia at 5.41pm today.

 

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said the epicentre was 56 kilometres (km) Southeast of Palu, Indonesia and 645km Southeast of Sarikei, Sarawak.     The department will monitor the situation and provide updates but no tsunami threat said the statement. --BERNAMA
