Teenage girl, Indonesian man killed at night market

    KUALA LUMPUR: A local teenage girl and an Indonesian man were killed at a night market in Wira Damai, Gombak, here last night.

     

    In the 8.15pm incident, the suspect, believed to be another Indonesian man, had accidently stabbed the girl, who was shopping at the night market, while chasing after his countryman, Mohamad Hasir, 30. 
     
    Gombak police chief, ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah, said the suspect managed to catch up with Mohamad Hasir and stabbed him five times, including on his neck, shoulder, chest and stomach before fleeing from the scene. 
     
    "Mohamad Hasir died while being taken to Selayang Hospital," he said in a text message to Bernama here. 
    Abdul Rahim said Noor Fathanah died while being treated at a clinic in Pinggiran Batu Caves and her body was then taken to Selayang Hospital. 
     
    Public with information on the incident are requested to contact the Gombak police headquarters. 
    The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. -- BERNAMA
