KUALA LUMPUR -- A crime prevention operation named 'Ops Tawan' in Bangsar clearly produced results as there was zero crime reported in the area for the past 48 hours.
Brickfields police chief ACP Wan Abd Bari Wan Abd Khalid said the operation was started from the first day of Ramadhan and involved 90 police personnel from
Bukit Aman and the Federal Reserve Unit.
He said since January, 23 street crimes such as snatch thefts, robbery, car thefts and burglaries had been reported.
"This operation will be carried on until the crime rate drops and the community feels safe," he told reporters after a briefing to the police personnel involved in the operation, here today.
He added that the same operation would also be carried out at Desa Sri Hartamas and Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
