Masala Mix: Sasha Agha to star opposite Arjun Kapoor


THE female lead for Yash Raj Film‘s film, Aurangzeb, has been named and it is debutante Sasha Agha, daughter of veteran actress Salma Agha, reports BollywoodStars.Net.

The 19-year-old Pakistani beauty, whose real name is Zara Agha Khan, will play a glamorous role in the film directed by first-time director Atul Sabharwal. Sasha gained fame last year when an MMS clip showing her and Ruslaan Mumtaaz kissing went viral.

Arjun Kapoor plays the male lead. He‘ll be seen in a double role. The cast includes Southern export Prithviraj,  Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Amrita Singh.

 Salma made her debut in the B.R. Chopra film Nikaah in 1982. Her daughter will star in Yash Chopra‘s production. Yash is B.R Chopra‘s younger brother. Sasha is doing rigorous workouts, taking up dance  and diction classes to prepare for her role. The film is scheduled for an early 2013 release.

Salman Khan rocks

SALMAN Khan has a cameo in Preity Zinta‘s debut production, Ishkq In Paris, reports He appears as himself in a wedding scene and  dances to an upbeat song, Kudiya di Kurti, composed by Sajid and Wajid Ali.

“I love Salman for being part of my first film as a producer. First experiences are always the most memorable and special, and he looked so handsome and super hot,“ said Preity.

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series music label said: “Kudiye di Kurti is an up-tempo song and no one  does it better than Salman Khan.  He‘s a rock star in the number.“   

Ishkq In Paris is slated for release on Oct 5.

Puppies for Sridevi‘s girls

SRIDEVI, who was busy with the comeback film, English Vinglish, has given her daughters — Jhanvi and Kushi — a puppy each for being supportive of her return to filmdom, reports The Times of The girls are excited about the puppies,  Cocoa and Waffle.

“This is the first time Sridevi is away from her daughters. The two girls took good care of themselves in her absence. Sridevi was moved,” sources were quoted in the report.

English Vinglish is directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by Balki.

Priyanka to launch first single

PRIYANKA Chopra is set to release her first single, In My City, which also features, reports

The music album will be launched at the American channel NFL Network event tomorrow. Priyanka will launch the number for her Indian fans 12 hours before the American release.

When Shah Rukh Khan, who was rumoured to be very close to her, was asked to comment on Priyanka‘s  talent, he said: “Priyanka has the capacity and talent to become the first crossover star from India, our first creative export. She has a super team backing her and she is truly an international brand and will make India very proud.”

Watch Jayam grow older

JAYAM Ravi will be seen in two age roles — 24 and 48 — in Nimirndhu Nil, reports The film tracks his life from age 5.  Amala Paul and Megna Raj are the heroines.
The Tamil-Telugu bilingual film is written and directed by Samuthirakani and produced by Vasans Visual Ventures, with music by GV Prakash.

Vishal hit in the head

KOLLYWOOD actor Vishal recently sustained injuries during the shooting of Madha Gaja Raja in Chennai, reports He was hit in the head in a fight scene and although it was said to be nothing serious, he was nevertheless taken to Apollo Hospital and advised to rest for a few days.

The action-comedy flim stars Anjali and Vishal’s close friend Varalakshmi Sarathkumar as the  leading ladies.

Director Sundar C does comedy  well and his recent release Kalakalappu was a hit. This has upped expectations for Madga Gaja Raja. Some of the scenes were filmed in Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, Vishal will also be seen in Samar with Thiru, Trisha and Sunaina.

Rani as Marathi country girl  

THE first look of the much awaited film, Aiyya, has been released. It will be Rani Mukerji’s comeback film. Among the  many stills released, one shows Rani looking gorgeous in a blue chiffon saree. However, she looks funny wearing oversized shades. She also wears a nose ring, depicting her as a Marathi country girl.

The story is about art college student Meenakshi Deshpande (Rani) whose parents are eager to marry her off. Meenakshi, however, lives a fantasy world and wants to become an actress. Finally, she gives in to her parents’ pressure to marry.

Rani is said to have researched well for her Maharastrian role by learning about the culture, speaking to Marathi actors and watching Marathi films, reports The film is slated for release on Oct 26.
