MALAYSIA’S respected musical “sifu” Datuk M Nasir collaborates with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra for two nights of musical magic tomorrow and Sunday. M.Nasir with the MPO will be at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas at KLCC, Kuala Lumpur.
The award-winning Nasir, who helped launch the careers of many prominent local recording artistes, will sing 20 of his hit songs backed
by the orchestra and conductor Kevin Field.
This is Nasir’s first concert at the DFP and it marks his 35th year in show business.
The talented Nasir has written and composed songs for The Alleycats, Search, Wings, Rahim Maarof, Hattan, Misha Omar and Jamal Abdillah, among others.
His notable compositions include Hingga Akhir Nanti (The Alleycats), Fantasia Bulan Madu (Search), Sejati (Wings) and Awan Nano (Hafiz Suip), and his hit songs include Mentera Semerah Padi, Mustika, Juwita Cinta Terindah and Tanya Sama Itu Hud Hud.
He has starred in films such as Selubung, Fenomena, Puteri Gunung Ledang and Magika.
