RENAISSANCE Melaka Hotel celebrates Malacca City Day with an exciting gastronomic affair offering cuisine unique to the state until April 18.
The Heritage Journey buffet dinner promotion offers Malacca’s specialty cuisine from the past to the present, from Sunday to Wednesday, at Zest Restaurant.
Executive chef James Francis and his team offer a variety of dishes from the Dutch, Portuguese, Baba Nyonya, Chitty, Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines. The fare also includes a touch of Japanese and English.
Appetisers include sushi, fotomaki, soba noodle, seared tuna, seafood platter and grilled asparagus salad with feta cheese and local favourites like celup bendi, nyonya acar, gado-gado and assorted chutneys.
Famous dishes like beef semur, inchemento, curry devil chicken, lamb pong tay, curry keluak chicken, asam pedas, nyonya chap chai and nasi biryani are on the menu.
Popular street food like roti jala, rojak Malacca, chicken rice ball and ais kacang take centre stage.
The restaurant is popular for its interactive action stations that offer noodles and chicken rice grilled and carving stalls. There are carving stations too.
To spice up the menu, Francis has added signature Malacca dishes like nyonya laksa.
Seafood lovers will find choices like tiger prawns, oysters and mussels on ice.
End the Heritage Journey with sweetmeats at the dessert counter. Go for blueberry crumble, English trifle, fruit tartlets and bread and butter pudding. There are assorted Malay and Nyonya delicacies too.
After Malacca Day, which is celebrated annually on April 15, Zest Restaurant will fete secretaries with a luncheon from April 23-28. One lucky secretary will walk away with the grand prize — one year of free dining at Zest. Secretaries dining in with friends will enjoy a 50 per cent discount on the outlet’s luncheon for the week. The Secretaries Week Luncheon is priced at RM45++ per person.
