Blissful retreat

Be close to nature while enjoying all the amenities of a five-star resort at Pulai Springs Resort, writes Hanna Hussein

IT’S quiet. It’s secluded. That’s Pulai Springs Resort in Pulai, Johor. The neck of the woods fringing the resort lends it greenery, fresh air and a calm ambience.

The sense of relief envelops me as soon as I enter the resort through an arched entrance. The tree-lined avenue is a shady walk to the Clubhouse and the sight of the well-manicured golf course on the left adds to the cool ambience.
My two-bedroom apartment at its CintaAyu All Suites Hotel overlooking the golf course, is spacious and homely. There’s a kitchenette and a dining table, a living room with a balcony, two attached bathrooms and two bedrooms, suitable for a family with two children.

The beds are comfortable and two extra fluffy pillows are provided. I love the big, walk-in closet as it includes a big vanity mirror and table.

What’s a retreat without a spa? Pulai Spa is definitely the place to revitalise your body. It has a cool tropical and Asian-tinged decor but the best thing about it is its relaxing treatments.

Another attraction is the infinity pool overlooking the golf course. Swimming to the edge of the pool and looking at the greenery beyond is so calming. Situated on the second floor, the pool is beside Cinta Deli, which offers international and local food.

The resort offers many holiday packages and the latest is the Legoland Malaysia Holiday Package. At RM480, you will get a night’s stay at the hotel, buffet breakfast for two persons, two Legoland one-day tickets and free dinner for two children.

Legoland is just 25 minutes’ drive from the resort.

Another attraction is the shopping haven Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) which is half an hour’s drive away. Pulai Springs Resort also provides shuttle service to JPO. How convenient is that!

Cinta Terrace serves mouth-watering international and local spread. The imperial-style Qing Palace offers Sichuan, Fuzhou and Cantonese cuisine. The Gleneagles Terrace serves local and Western cuisine while the Elephant Castle is a typical English pub with an Asian twist in the form of karaoke. If you love sitting by the pool, head for Waterfalls Cafe.

Friendly staff.

None. It’s a secluded stand-alone resort.

Breathtaking scenery of the Pulai golf course
