According to Mayan predictions, the world will end in December but in Chinese astrology, the Yang Water Dragon will bring many possibilities for good fortune.

Of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, only the dragon is a mythical creature and one that‘s associated with superiority, power and intelligence.

While the dragon in Western legends is always depicted as a fire-breathing agent of destruction, a creature that‘s feared, the celestial Chinese dragon is a benevolent animal that is greatly respected. It is also revered as a protector against evil.

The emperor is referred to as the son of a dragon and he wears robes embroidered with the five-clawed dragon, a symbol that only he uses. He sleeps on a dragon bed and sits on the dragon throne.

Royalty and high officials use a four-clawed dragon for a symbol while the ordinary people use a three-clawed dragon symbol.
