HYPPTV recently unveiled two new live sports channels with HyppSports HD Channel (Channel 174) and FOX Football Channel (Channel 173) which are available for a free preview throughout this month.

The new channels were launched by Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s executive vice president (New Media) Jeremy Kung at Tropicana City in Petaling Jaya. Also present were ESPN Star Sports’ executive vice president and head of Sales (SEA) Adam Zecha and TM’s vice president (Consumer) Shahidah Ridwan.

Local sports enthusiasts will now be able to watch the latest sports coverage, in addition to its existing sports channels — MUTV, Trace Sports HD and HyppXtreme HD.

HyppSports HD Channel in collaboration with All Sports Network (ASN), which is made available in high definition (HD), kicks off with a series of live sporting events including American football programming from the National Football League (NFL), professional ice hockey from the National Hockey League (NHL), collegiate NCAA sports events, and the pickup truck racing series from Nascar. Others include Cage Fighting Championship, TNA Wrestling and the Australian Football League.

Kung said: “We have been listening to our subscribers’ demands for a sports channel on HyppTV. Today, we are pleased to finally include our first edition of live sports dedicated channels as our latest offerings. We sincerely hope that this will be the first of many more sports content offerings that HyppTV will bring to its viewers in the years to come.”

Fans can enjoy up to four matches simulcast live in full HD on each match day on HyppSports HD and its companion channels HyppSports2 HD, HyppSports3 HD, HyppSports4 HD.

HyppTV subscribers will now be able to enjoy their favourite teams in action, be it Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea FC or Manchester United as they seek European glory.

Fox Football Channel is a 24-hour non-stop football channel, showcasing some of the best football leagues in the world. Thanks to HyppTV, fans of other football leagues, such as Spain’s La Liga BBVA, the Netherland’s Eredevisie, the Russian Premier League and even Argentina’s Primera Division are not left out.

To top it off, fans of English Premier League giants, Chelsea and reigning champions Manchester City will also be delighted to find programmes from ChelseaTV and CityTV available on the channel, highlighting in depth player and coaches interviews, club history and previous match highlights. HyppTV is also the first pay-TV in the region to launch FOX Football Channel and will be offered on the online and mobile platform at a later date.

Zecha said: “Football is the most watched sport in Malaysia and we’re pleased to partner with TM to launch our first ever all-football channel on HyppTV. We look forward to broadcasting more than 500 matches from the 2012-13 season on Fox Football Channel, and provide comprehensive coverage with compelling support programming and news updates around the games. This underlines our commitment to provide the most complete football coverage to fans across Malaysia on this new and exciting channel.”

HyppSports HD channels and FOX Football are currently available to HyppTV subscribers for free viewing throughout October, after which the channels are available for subscription by ala-carte option at RM15 per channel or bundled at a price of RM25 per month.
