Taiwanese artistes to meet fans

    ASTRO and TVBS Asia invite fans to meet Taiwanese celebrities from the programmes Ladies First and Super Taste at 6pm this weekend at High Street in 1 Utama, Petaling Jaya.

    Taiwanese fashion diva and host of Ladies First Pauline Lan, hairstylist Wu Yi Lin and make-up artiste Kevin Chou meet and greet fans on Saturday, while comedy duo Hao Jiao Xiang Qi (Hao Zi and Ah Xiang) and host Sasa of Super

    Taste have their turns on Sunday.

    Astro Ben Di Quan artistes Chen Keat Yoke, Lan Kah Fai, Eng Yee Min, Danny Koo, Chang Yew Joe and Shian Ter will entertain the crowd on both days too.

    There will also be interactive games for the audience to participate in.

    Ladies First airs at 8pm every Monday to Friday and Super Taste airs at 6pm every Saturday and Sunday on TVBS Asia (Astro Channel 317).

     


     

    The violin and piano hold court

    PIANIST Alexander Melnikov and violinist Isabelle Faust team up for their first classical concert at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in KLCC, in Kuala Lumpur at 8.30pm on July 2.

    Melnikov commands the classic Russian technique and has performed in Amsterdam, Tokyo, Frankfurt and Paris.

    Faust, meanwhile, won the Leopold Mozart Competition at 15. She gained international recognition with her recordings of sonatas by Bartok, Szymanowski and Janacek.

    For their concert, the dynamic duo will present Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 4 In A Minor (Op. 23), Violin Sonata No. 5 In F — Spring and Violin Sonata No. 9 in A (Op. 47), and Weber’s Violin Sonata No. 3 In D Minor (Op. 10) and Violin

    Sonata No. 4 In E Flat (Op. 10).
