Indulge in traditional dishes and all-time favourites at Puteri Resort Ayer Keroh Malacca this Ramadan, writes Teresa Yong-Leong

THIS Ramadan, Puteri Resort Ayer Keroh in Malacca is putting out a lavish spread of kampung dishes for the breaking of fast at its Dayang Coffee House until Aug 18.

Chef Ismail and his team have spared no efforts in coming up with over 60 dishes comprising appetisers, main courses and dessert that showcases the best of Malacca cuisine.

Among the popular dishes are asam pedas daun kesum, daging rendang Minang, nangka muda gulai ikan masin, pucuk manis lemak keledek, sayur keladi asam rebus, tetel asam pedas, ayam panggang air hitam and squid sambal.
This is a good time to indulge in these all-time favourites which bring back warm memories of mum’s and grandma’s cooking.

Besides the main buffet spread, there are the live action stalls serving the resort’s signature dishes such as roast lamb,Puteri grilled fish, Portuguese grilled fish, chicken rice ball, char kway teow, mee ban-
dung, asam laksa, mee jawa, mee kari and cucur udang.

Diners have a choice of how they want their seafood grilled — traditional Malay style or the Portuguese way — and their choice of sauces.

Outstation diners should seize the opportunity to try Malacca’s chicken rice balls. They are fun to eat and you can count the number of rice balls you want to pop into your mouth.

For dessert, be tempted by an assortment of local Malay kuih, pudding, assorted pastries and fresh fruit. Kuih lapis, seri muka and sago gula Melaka are among the favourites on offer.

The Ramadan buffet from 6.30pm-9pm, is priced at RM39.90 nett (adult) and RM23.90 (child below 12). For reservation, call 06-232 3333 or email puterimk@streamyx.com.
Diners can perform their prayers at the hotel surau.

The Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet is also available at Puteri Garden Hotel Klang. Call 03-3374 7777.
