Beginning Monday, ntv7 will start airing dramas from the Land of Smiles via the Thai Lakorn slot

NEW Thai drama slot, Thai Lakorn, begins Monday on ntv7. It airs Mondays to Fridays at 10am.

Known for airing a variety of Asian shows including those from south Korea, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, ntv7 hopes to continue to attract loyal viewers through the newly introduced slot.

Emilya Ab Rahim, ntv7 manager, Brand Management Group, said that the decision to introduce a Thai drama slot is part of the station’s strategy to provide programme variety for its viewers, adding that they seem to find Asian programmes engaging.

“We believe the new slot will give more flavour to our viewers apart from the Korean dramas. This will enable them to have more selection through the airing of some of the more recent Thai series,” said Emilya.

“Just like the Korean dramas which air every Monday to Friday at 11am, the Thai series will be shown in its original language,” Emilya added.

Thai Lakorn will open with its first series, Hiroshima Sky, starring heartthrob Aun Wasukaipaisarn who plays Tawan in the romantic comedy series and the beautiful Paula Taylor who plays Fun Fah.

The story begins with Tawan being heartbroken when his girlfriend leaves him for a rich guy. Tawan then accepted his company’s offer to continue his studies in Japan. While there he meets Fun Fah, a cheerful young lady who often brings unexpected troubles to him.

The story of Fun Fah who travelled to Japan in search of her biological father will further strengthen the plot in this heartwarming drama. The series, which was filmed in Hiroshima, Japan is expected to move viewers with its beautiful scenery and wonderful culture.

Among other series which will be shown are Love Beyond Frontier and Autumn Destiny with strong plots and outstanding casts including Pichaya Nitipaisalkul, Pirat Nitipaisakul, Mario Maurer, Ryan from popular Korean band Paran, as well as Eli and Kim Ki Burn of U-Kiss.
