When pewter meets wood

Royal Selangor unites pewter and wood in its latest collection. Intan Maizura Ahmad Kamal has the story

IT’S an exquisite collection — pewter combined with Kulim wood to produce bowls and platters, with each piece decorated with bold and simple lines created by pewter inlays.

Kulim is a medium hardwood with fine interlocked grains and has a natural dark colour that combines beautifully with the satin pewter sheen. The wood is PEFC certified wood to ensure that only wood from sustainable resources is used.

There are two designs to choose from — Pure and Wave, and each is available in three sizes. Pure brings out the beauty of the wood with a simple pewter rim encircling each piece. Wave, meanwhile, has an additional feature of two wave lines of pewter inlays running across the surface of the platters, combined with a bold wave line around the body of the bowls.

Made with meticulous attention to detail, the bowls are uniquely shaped with a gentle undulating rim. The perfect match of wood with pewter embellishment exudes a warm and seductive vibe to the home. Decorative and functional, each piece complements any modern home interior and makes a great gift especially for new homeowners.

The Arcadia collection can be viewed at all Royal Selangor retail stores, authorised dealers and online at royalselangor.com.
