Local artistes donate their baju kurung help Women’s Aid Organisation, writes Sushma Veera

LOCAL celebrities have come together and dug into their wardrobes to raise money for charity by donating baju kurung at the  www.friendlyfashion.my community website.

Website founding sisters Nadzirah and Diyana Hashim are urging celebrities to donate their baju kurung to be sold on the webpage. Among those who have done so are actresses Lisa Surihani and Sharifah Sofia, television hosts Belinda Chee and Rina Omar, singer Raja Shahirah and fashion blogger Ami Schaheera.

“All proceeds of the campaign, named For The Love Of Preloved, will go to the Women’s Aid Organisation. We picked this non-profit organisation as we want to empower women  to start something small for the greater good,” says Nadzirah.

“We invite celebrities to support this idea because people should understand that success doesn’t equate with wearing only new clothes. In fact, success comes from understanding that looking good doesn’t need to cost much,” adds Nadzirah.

“The items are at an affordable price of between RM50 and RM100,” says Diyana.

The campaign will go on until the end of Ramadan.
