ALTHOUGH his film, Ek Tha Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is doing well at the box office, director Kabir Khan is not overjoyed as the film has been banned in Pakistan, reports NDTV.com.
“It is sad a film that promotes peace and friendship has fallen victim to politics,“ says Khan who elaborates that “it is not about the money but that a film with good intentions failed to be released in Pakistan though places like Dubai and London, which have a mixed population of Indians and Pakistanis, have reacted positively to the film.“
Ek Tha Tiger‘s first day collection surpassed that of Shah Rukh Khan‘s Ra.One and Hrithik Roshan‘s Agneepath, both released last year.

Early release for 3-D Sivaji
THE 3-D version of his 2011 film, Sivaji The Boss, is slated for release this Deepavali but superstar Rajinikanth has asked filmmakers AVM Productions, to release it earlier so that actor Vijay’s film Thupakki and Suriya’s film, Maatraan, also slated for Deepavali release, will not suffer poor ticket sales, reports IndiaGlitz.com.
Quoting sources, the report said that the superstar did not want the two actors’ films to face a setback because his 3-D film is expected to rake in a big chunk at the box office.
Although it is Kochadaiyaan producer Soundarya Ashwin’s wish that her production would be her father’s first 3-D film, Rajnikanth has asked his daughter to hold the Kochadaiyaan release until after Sivaji the Boss in 3-D is out.
Shruthi the believer
ALTHOUGH it’s known that Kollywood ace Kamalhaasan is an atheist, his daughter Shruthi Haasan, is not. The young star has said that she believes in God, reports Southdreamz.com.
“There was no pooja room in my home since my father is a non-believer. But I started believing in the Almighty and I have complete trust in Him,” said Shruthi.
“I frequently visit temples. And my father has not asked me about this,” said the actress-singer-music composer.
The young star, who tasted success in 7am Arivu, is focusing on her music career now as she has not had many offers to act in Tamil films. “I don’t know what actress Shruthi would do after 10 years. But I am sure musician Shruthi would be performing.”
Tight security for Khan film
THE cast and crew of Yash Chopra’s upcoming yet-to-be titled film are in Kashmir to shoot several scenes, reports BollywoodMantra.com. The state is one of the favourite shooting locations for films made under the Yash Raj Films banner.
Yash Chopra wants to shoot scenes involving Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, the lead stars of the film. Kashmir has a turbulent political past and, with mega star Shah Rukh in the film, shooting will be done under tight security.
Both Jammu and Kashmir police are on hand to keep watch during the filming which will take place at the Phalgam region as well as in Ladakh. Shah Rukh was in Ladakh for a scene in Dil Se in 1998.
A major part of the film has been shot in London. The film is slated for a Deepavali release on Nov 13.
