Lacoste’s new fragrance combines freshness with a delicate flowery smell, writes Nadia Badarudin
THE words on the box of Lacoste’s newest fragrance for women, Eau de Lacoste Pour Femme, says, “A feminine fragrance that captures the simple sensuality of delicate flowers.”
To be honest, I am not a fan of perfumes with a sweet and flowery smell so reading the words made me hesitant to try it on.
However, I changed my mind after spraying it on — the Eau De Lacoste Pour Femme surprised me with its unconventional scent.
The smell, which changes smoothly from subtle to a hint of sensual balsam, is unique and sophisticated.
It emits a sparkling freshness via a variety of fruity and floral notes such as pineapple, mandarin, bergamot, orange blossom and jasmine from the region of Calabria in Italy.
EXPRESSION OF PURITY
Expressing the purity that lies at the heart of the Lacoste brand, the elegant jasmine sambac is woven with the textural quality of pineapple flower to create a delicately clean, natural femininity.
A creamy and voluptuous sensuality lingers at the base, resonant of sandalwood and vanilla enveloped with vetiver and peru balsam.
The result is not the usual dizzying flowery smell but a splash of freshness (something I prefer when choosing perfumes) which leaves me feeling energetic and confident to start my day. The smell, however, does not last long.
American actress Amy Adams is the face of Lacoste’s fragrance for women. Her elegance, spontaneity and effortless style reflect the confidence and natural simplicity that characterise the Lacoste brand.
The clear-coloured perfume is housed in a cute round flacon designed by Lacoste design director, Christophe Pillet.
Inspired by a tennis ball, the nude and white-coloured bottle features many of Lacoste’s signature codes such as the crocodile engraving and the petit pique-textured cap. Around the neck of the bottle is a collar of silky cotton thread.
Prices for the EDP range from RM163 to RM314. Its body lotion and shower gel retails at RM105 and RM89 respectively.
