    Royal Selangor gets delightfully whimsical with its Teddy Bears’ Picnic collection, writes Intan Maizura Ahmad Kamal

    ROYAL Selangor’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic range is a delightful collection that’s both chic and contemporary, great as gifts and as stylish home accessories.

    With its sculpted figures of playful teddies against a backdrop of the woods, the minimalist treatment is refreshing. It offers a modern take on this classic children’s range. New designs include an eggcup, photo frame, mug, tooth box, musical carousel and coin box.  

    Inspired by the nursery rhyme Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush, the pewter musical carousel with its walnut wood finish, features images of teddy bears and ribbons sculpted on the item, while the mug and eggcup depict playful teddies and a charming pattern representing the woods. The photo frame meanwhile is decorated with images of three teddy bears peeking out at the corners of the frame.

    There’s also a tooth box sculpted with a cute teddy sitting on the lid. Never mind if the tooth fairy doesn’t make an appearance — kids will love it anyway. You can also encourage the children to save for a rainy day with the attractive pewter and wood treasure chest-like coin box with Teddy dutifully guarding it. Most of these items in the collection can be personalised through engraving.
