REVEL in the frenzied highs and lows of Asia's celebrity chef Bobby Chinn as he transforms a 465-square-metre space in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City into a world class restaurant.
Restaurant Bobby Chinn sees the New Zealander chef face his greatest challenge as he attempts to conquer the hearts, minds and appetites of the Vietnamese with his fusion of Asian and European cuisine.
Chinn manoeuvres his way around architects, designers and even a feng shui master to complete the restaurant on time and within budget.
He scours Vietnam to find the freshest local ingredients and unearths inspiration in surprising places to create his new menu.
Restaurant Bobby Chinn premieres on TLC every Monday at 10pm beginning Aug 13.
Meanwhile, British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver returns with a scrumptious new menu in Jamie’s Great Britain.
He makes beef and ale pies dedicated to Prince William and his wife Catherine, Yemeni fare in the home of Dame Shirley Bassey in Tiger Bay, introduces diners to pasties, cheddar and cider in West Country and the Arbroath smokies of Scotland.
Oliver goes on a culinary road trip with his kitchen on wheels, The Cock In Cider, across the United Kingdom and uncovers all you need to know about the phenomenal recipes that put his country on the food map.
Jamie’s Great Britain, with six episodes, premieres on TLC every Thursday at 4pm, Friday at 9am, Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at noon, and 9pm beginning Aug 16.
Finally, there is Now Boarding — Malaysia which celebrates the best of Malaysia in food this Merdeka month.
Airing every Friday at 9pm and repeats every Saturday at 8am and Sunday at 1pm, it will also be screened at 10pm on Aug 21 and 28.
TLC’s most loved hosts Ian Wright, Janet Hsieh, Anthony Bourdain, Samantha Brown, Anita Kapoor, Chinn, Jamie Aditya and K. F. Seetoh circle the country and each episode profiles their outrageous adventures as they seek out the authentic Malaysian experience in food and sightseeing.
Denise Keller will also host Passage To Malaysia, hitting the road to explore the culinary flavours of East Malaysia.
She gets to know the Melanau’s “Tree of Life” and meets artists from a perspective beyond galleries and exhibitions.
The show’s first episode premieres at 10pm on Aug 21 and repeats at 9am on Aug 22 and 4pm on Aug 28.
Its second episode is at 10pm on Aug 28 and repeats at 9am on Aug 29 and 4pm on Sept 4.
