Animation tunes with a Chinese twist

THE Petaling Jaya Civic Centre in Jalan Yong Shook Lin, Petaling Jaya and Vivo Experimental Orchestra are staging The Music World Of Animation Concert on Aug 25.

Recreating classic tunes from animated films using traditional Chinese musical instruments, the concert will be conducted by Chew Hee Chiat, the resident conductor of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.

Promising a fun-filled evening of heart-warming memories, the orchestra will perform favourites such as Colours Of The Wind, The Prince Of Egypt, Pink Panther, Laputa: Castle In The Sky, Doraemon, Fisher Boy and Final Fantasy.

These familiar tunes are enlivened with new arrangements from composers including Vivo’s Chow Jun Yi and Chew.

Formed in 2003, Vivo Experimental Orchestra is a group of young and lively musicians who believe in creating heart-stirring music.
