CELESTIAL Movies (Astro Channel 322) will air a new Korean drama series, Hero starring some of the country’s award-winning actors — Yang Dong-Keun, Han Chae-Ah, Son Byung-Ho and Choi Chul-Ho.
The setting for the action-fantasy series is a South Korea on the verge of bankruptcy and where corruption is rampant. When wealthy playboy Kim Heuk Chul (Yang) attempts to save beautiful policewoman Yoon E-On (Han) from an assassination attempt, he is critically wounded and falls into a coma for three years.
When he wakes up, he decides to forego his playboy past and make it his mission to fight crime in the city, and to capture the hitmen who tried to kill E-On. Little does he know that the powers behind the corruption are closer to him than he thinks.
Hero premiered as the No. 1 programme in its time slot among all cable channels in Korea. It is not a small production, as the production budget for the first two episodes was US$1 million (RM3.1 million).
Premiering on Sept 3, Hero will air every Monday to Friday at 8pm, with repeats at 10.45pm on Celestial Movies (Astro Channel 322).
A marathon of episodes one to five will air on Sept 9 from 1pm, while episodes six to 10 will air on Sept 16 at 1pm.
