CANON Marketing (Malaysia) recently unveiled nine new multimedia projectors to suit the demands of any lifestyle.

Its consumer system products division senior marketing manager Sandy Lee said the range raises  the experience of giving presentations, conference data sharing and home movie screenings to a different level.

Of the nine, eight are LV LCD projectors that are built for  portability and cost-effectiveness with a DIY maintenance feature.

The XEED WX6000 installation-based projector, meanwhile, is for large venues like museums or hospitals. There is no need to tilt the projector as images can be projected from any angle, up to 360 degrees.

The LV LCD projectors are  priced from RM2,028 while the WX6000 will be in stores at RM18,999 per unit.

Trend Micro hosts media night

ANTI-virus solutions provider Trend Micro Malaysia  recently organised  a Hari Raya open house for the media. Some 20 guests attended the event, which was held at Gardens Hotel in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur. On hand to greet the media were Trend Micro’s pre-sales consultant Law Chee Wan, senior manager channel development Leelynn Kong, director of marketing and consumer business Malaysia and Indonesia, Jean Lim, managing director Southeast Asia Region, Goh Chee Hoh and regional consulting manager Southeast Asia Region, Victor Lo.

Samsung thrills gamers

SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics thrilled gamers at the recent World Cyber Games (WCG) Asian Championship 2012 and Digital Lifestyle Expo (DLE), organised by the National ICT Association Of Malaysia (Pikom). Consumers as well as Samsung fans were entertained to several activities that included a Super Match which featured four fans with the highest score during an online activity held recently.

The match was played on the new Samsung Notebook Series 7 GAMER. Entrepreneur, blogger and former professional gamer Ashley Khoo’s presence added to the fun and thrills and she obliged by playing a friendly game with one of the finalists.

New thin Sharp phone

Sharp has marked its entry into the Malaysian smartphone market with the launch of the SH530U, a dual SIM smart phone that features a 5-inch display screen and its own Feel UX user interface. Priced at RM1,288, the phone targets  those who want a big cost-effective screen phone.

Boasting a thickness of 9.9mm, the SH530U runs on Android 4.0. Sporting a seamless design and a matt texture on its back, the SH530U comes in two colours: Snowy White and Cherry Red. Available now, the phone is distributed by Brightstar Distribution Sdn Bhd.
