Reward for info on water leaks and broken pipes

KUALA LUMPUR: Consumers reporting leakage or broken pipes stand to receive rewards from Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), through a lucky draw scheme.

Syabas corporate affairs executive director Abdul Halem Mat Som said the reward scheme was started since 2005 and the winners were randomly picked by a computer programme.

"Syabas will reward five consumers who take the initiative to call and inform the company of water leakages or broken pipes every month," he told reporters at a ceremony to pick winners here yesterday.

He said the system was capable of receiving 999 such calls and choosing the  winners every month, based on three specified numbers.

"Winners will stand a chance to win prizes like a 42-inch plasma TV, microwave oven, 22-inch  LCD TV, DVD and home theatre systems."

Halem said, during the ceremony yesterday, that winners for the months of October, November and December were picked and the winners would receive their gifts next month.

Consumers can contact Puspel's toll free number 1-800-88-5252 for enquiries, service disruptions or to inform of water leakages and broken pipes.
