Selangor exco bombarded by Taman Nirvana residents
KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Housing, Building Management and Squatters Committee Chairman Iskandar Abdul Samad was today bombarded by residents of Taman Nirvana, Ampang who were unhappy with the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council's decision to approve the construction of a 16-storey apartment in the area.
According to them, the building would add to their existing problems such as traffic congestion, damaged roads, low water pressure, flash floods and frequent power failure.
They also questioned the action of the Selangor State government in amending the original plan of the area from building shoplots to a 16-storey apartment which will affect several other neighbouring areas such as Taman Cempaka, Taman Dagang and Taman Nirwana.
Taman Nirwana Residents Committee chairman, M. Thomas said the problem of traffic congestion in the area was getting worse while the project development would cause more road damage.
Meanwhile, Iskandar welcomed the residents' feedback on the project in the dialogue session and gave his assurance that the issue would be brought to the Menteri Besar's attention at the Selangor State Economic Action Meeting. Bernama
