KUANTAN: Six people, believed to be followers of a deviationist group known as "Tuhan Harun" or "Tuhan 2013" pleaded guilty in the Syariah Lower Court here today to a charge of possessing documents which contained teachings which contradicted Islamic teachings.
Husin Ismail, Pius Anahong@Mahdi Abdullah, Mohd Khalilie Zazali, Syahiszam Soid, Mohd Nizam Mohd Salleh and Mohd Shahril Mohd Jaafar are charged with committing the offence at B16-1st Lorong Pandan Damai 2/201 here at 6.50pm last April 4.
They are charged under Section 165 of the Administration Of The Religion Of Islam And The Malay Custom Of Pahang Enactment 1982 which provides a RM2,000 fine or one year's jail or both, upon conviction.
Judge Abdul Wahid Md. Ali Al-Fakwie, however, set Aug 27 for sentencing due to some technical problems on the exhibits in the case and allowed the accused to be released on bail of RM1,000 each in one surety.
Prosecution was conducted by Syariah deputy prosecutor Mohd Fahmi Abd Jalil, from the Pahang Islamic Religious Department. --BERNAMA
