Sultan Ibrahim visits Royal Mausoleum

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar visited the Royal Mausoleum in Bukit Mahmoodiah here on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri yesterday.

Sultan Ibrahim was accompanied by his younger brother, Tunku Majid Sultan Iskandar, and his princes Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Abu Bakar.

The royal family recited the Al-Fatihah and poured scented water as well as sprinkled flowers on the graves.

The graves at the Royal Mausoleum include that of Sultan Ibrahim's late father, Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail (who reigned from 1981-2010), his grandfather, Sultan Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (who reigned from 1959-1981), his great-grandfather Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Abu Bakar (who reigned from 1895-1959) and his great-great-grandfather Sultan Abu Bakar (who reigned from 1862-1895).

The ruler also paid his respects at the grave of his grandmother, Sultanah Ungku Tun Aminah Ungku Ahmad.

The visit to the Royal Mausoleum is an annual affair for the royal family on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as well as during Johor's Hari Hol holiday.
