CREDIT CARDS: Ensure card readers work at all times

THE government should make it compulsory for outlets to display notices if they accept credit cards or debit cards for payment of goods and services.

They should also ensure that their card readers are in working condition at all times.

They must also have a manual card machine as a backup.

On numerous occasions, I was told by sales representatives that their card readers were not functioning but customers were not informed beforehand.

It is embarrassing for customers when they encounter this problem, especially in a fast-food outlet.

We are in the technology era, so please buck up.
