THE Curve on Wednesday  invited 23 senior citizens from Rumah Seri Kenangan in Cheras, for a special breaking of fast treat.

The guests were entertained before breaking of fast by Raya Musika Show, a performance featuring traditional musical instruments such as sri kenchana with kompang and Dansa Raya, a musical dance extravaganza that celebrates the joy of Raya.

The Curve centre manager Jazmi Kamarudin said  this was  part of the mall's annual event.

"Over the years, the Curve has hosted buka puasa  with  charitable homes. This year, we want to pay tribute  to our elders who have contributed so much to our community."

The Curve also distributed Raya goodies to the senior citizens. Besides duit raya, the men  received kain pelikat and sejadah while the women were presented with  sarung batik,  telekung and  household items.

The guests then  broke fast at Chomey Kelantanese Cuisine.

Senior citizen, Hasnah Mohd Jam, 77, the eldest resident of Rumah Seri Kenangan said she had been living there for six years  since her husband died in an accident.

"I like living here. I have  many friends and best of all I am free to do what I do best which is handicrafts," said Hasnah.

Nor Kiah Mohd Isa, 71, who has been staying at the home for two years, said she was twice divorced with no children.

"I am lucky to stay in Rumah Seri Kenangan.  My relatives still come to see me once in a while," said Nor.

To commemorate the month of Ramadan, the Curve will be featuring a wide variety of performances, activities and promotions for shoppers until Aug 26.
