POPULAR: Mouthwatering dishes keep customers of Yana Asam Pedas returning for more

 BATU PAHAT:  IF you love asam pedas, visit Yana Asam Pedas in Batu Pahat. Located in Jalan Shahbandar, the restaurant is just a stone's throw away from the Peserai Bridge.

    There are many mouthwatering dishes served in this restaurant but its speciality is the asam pedas fish rice.

  Most would recommend a variety of the  asam pedas fish dishes including sting ray, red sea perch, catfish and mackerel.

  The price range is between RM3 and RM7 depending on the size and type of the fish.

  The combination of  thick gravy and  fresh fish is  tasty and keeps attracting customers, especially those craving for an authentic asam pedas meal.

  The restaurant's  curry dishes, rendang, sambal goreng, salted eggs, cencaluk, sambal belacan are also popular with  customers.

  Many regulars to Yana Asam Pedas  also  order  the cencaluk that has been described by many as  salty, pungent and stinky in a delicious way.

  The owner of the restaurant, Siti Azliyana Mohd Abd Aziz, 24, said she wanted to share the authentic taste of  asam pedas, a   recipe inherited from her family.

  "Many office workers and families have patronised our restaurant since its opening in February last year," she said.

  The restaurant opens from 8am until 5pm daily except on Fridays and it can accommodate about 100 customers at a time.

  It also provides a mobile phone-charging station and free Wi-Fi connection, television and a play area for children.
