Kimma Raya gifts for the less fortunate

PASIR GUDANG: The district's underprivileged community was recently given food hampers, rice and duit raya at the "Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat Dan Sumbangan Aidil Fitri" event organised by the Johor chapter of the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma) recently.

More than 800 people attended the buka puasa event.

The recipients included orphans, single mothers and single citizens. The orphans were also presented with clothes for Hari Raya at the event which was held at Masjid Jannatul Firdaus in Taman Molek.  

Also present were Kimma Johor chairman Mohd Raffi Beran, Kimma Johor adviser Datuk Sahul Hamid MTP Abdul Kadir, and Kimma Johor deputy chairman C.K. Hassan. The state religious council's (Amin Baitumal) assistant director Norhisham Mohd Syawal, representing the Johor religious committee chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman, was also there.

Others include Permas state assemblyman Datuk M.M. Samy (Permas); Johor Jaya state assemblyman Tan Cher Puk; Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin's political secretary, Mohamad Khairi Abdul Malik; and businessman Khalid Syufaut.
