JOHOR BARU: The go-kart, which took three months to complete, will be put to test in the inter-university's Educational Innovation of Motorsports and Automotive Race or otherwise known as EimaRace in September.

  EimaRace is a unique competition where students race  go-karts  made by themselves, representing their respective universities, IKBN nationwide and also government-subsidised colleges.

 IKBN's go-kart will race against other go-karts created by IKBNs nationwide and also universities, in a race at the Bukit Sagor track in Pasir Salak in Perak.

 "It has been a long tiring three months. What was drawn and decided on paper is what we have today.

 "There were  disagreements but with proper discussion, a mutual decision was made and the final product is to everyone's liking.

 "It was a great experience and the boys acted like grown men, planning, discussing and also taking a lot of things into consideration before the final product was developed," said Mohd Ghazali Mohd Daud, IKBN's welding department lecturer.

  The race is considered  prestigious for    students as  not only do they gain  experience while doing their projects but they also feel a massive sense of achievement when their machine  wins.

  The Pagoh IKBN's go-kart was exhibited during the institute's career day,   where the visitors had a chance to view  the centre's  pride and joy.   

 The career carnival was also used as a platform to introduce recent school-leavers on the learning opportunities  available at IKBN. Established by the Youth and Sports Ministry, it  is intended to provide formal technical training to school-leavers.
